A Kenyan lawyer accused of corruptly influencing the International Criminal Court (ICC) witnesses in the criminal cases against humanity that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have surrendered in the Netherlands.
The lawyer, Peter Gicheru surrendered to the authorities of the Netherdays on Monday, November 2, pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Court (‘ ‘ICC” of the Court), as reported by the Reporter 254.
A statement from the international court said Gicheru, a Kenyan-based lawyer, is suspected of offenses against the administration of justice consisting of corruptly influencing the court’s witnesses.
The arrest warrant was issued under seal against Paul Gichure and Philip Kipchoech Bett on 10 March and unsealed on 10 September 2015 according to ICC.
The court stated that Philip Kipkoech is not in its custody.

Next Steps
The Court said it submitted a cooperation request to the Dutch authorities for the arrest and surrender of Paul Gicheru to the ICC upon completion of the necessary national arrest and proceedings.
