Homabay governor Cyprian Awiti was the talk of town after he alighted from a plane in style wrapped in a polythene.
As usual, Kenyans took to their social media handles to do all the guess works. While some made fun that the governor was hiding from Corona, others concluded that Awiti decided to put on a comprehensive body mask/face mask.
However, credible sources alleged that the governor was given the polythene to use since it was heavily raining at the airport. Cyprian Awiti is the governor of Homabay County. He was elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in 2013.

Currently, he is serving his second term after defending his seat in 2017 with a narrow margin. He defeated Oyugi Magwanga who alleged that there were some rigging. Known for his jovial nature while on stage, Awiti is able to woo large crowds without much struggle. His pathetic Kiswahili is one of his key strongholds since people enjoy listening to him in that “Luo accent.”
