Purity Ngirici has left social media users talking after she decided to wish ODM leader Raila Odinga a happy birthday before the actual day.
Raila will be turning 77 years old on January 7, 2021 but the former DP William Ruto ally could not wait any further in delivering her wishes.
“Happy 77th Birthday Jakom,” the Kirinyaga women representative shared, accompanied by a photo of Odinga.
A section of her followers interpreted her birthday message as a move to declare her interest in joining the Azimio la Umoja Movement which they claimed was the winning team.
“Welcome to Azimio where all dreams are made possible,” Newton Onditi responded to her post.
“Si birthday ni Kesho? But the hurried wish makes it a big political statement especially after umetoka Sugoi. The message is home,” Otukho Jackson wrote
Sen Aki Sam on his part said, “Baaaaaas I’ll personally Come to Kirinyaga to campaign for you Your Excellency Hon Wangui Ngirici.”
Ngirici quit DP Ruto’s UDA recently and announced that she will be going for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat on any party’s ticket or even as an independent candidate.
She said that she decamped from the Hustler Nation after several leaders in the party requested her to shelve her gubernatorial ambitions to pave the way for governor Anne Waiguru.
“In 2022, I will not stand with any political party. I will seek to be elected as a governor, as an individual, and I’m confident that I will sail through,” she stated.
After the fallout with UDA, Ngirici went ahead and removed UDA colors from her offices in Kerugoya town as well as from her campaign vehicles, painting them white.
On Wednesday, Ngirici hinted that she had embraced Odinga’s political ideology on partnering with Mt. Kenya.
“The interests of Mount Kenya can’t be dictated by outsiders. It’s only through partnerships and election of independent minded leaders that Mount Kenya will benefit. We as the mountain might produce a Deputy President but we can only be sure that he/she shall be respected if we have a formidable coalition,” she said.
