Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula has faced a backlash after calling upon Kenyans pastors and religious leaders to stream at The Statehouse, which currently houses President Ruto and his family.
Savula advised them to pay a visit so that they can reap big and further shared photos of a pastor and Rachel Ruto as evidence to prove his point.
“Kenyan Pastors, Bishops and Choirs, State House is the place to visit and reap big. Bishop Yego walked into @StateHouseKenyaempty handed to visit Rachel Ruto. He left a few minutes later with a big fat brown envelope. Kakamega Bishops like Olumasai and Titus Khamala. Its your time,” he said in a tweet.

Responding to his tweet, netizens slammed him and accused him of being drunk.
“You always vomit when you are drunk and later say you were misquoted. Control your alcoholic behavior,” a netizen told him.
“It’s time you begin talking like a leader with a vision. Just because you bribe people in Your village doesn’t mean everyone else is doing it. Where is the brown envelope you’re talking about? Why would you then encourage your local religious leaders to visit the statehouse? Stop” another said.
“You forgot to mention he came with a buttoned coat and a flat tummy but left with unbuttoned coat and extended tummy . KENYA IS A SECULAR NATION NOT AN EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN STATE,” read a comment.
“You are becoming arrogant and you will perish! Keep off the men of God@Hon.savula.”
