Akothee has denied claims that she broke up with her lover Nelly Oaks. Reports that the two had gone separate ways were first revealed by the artist herself.
Taking to her social media pages, the mother of five revealed that the break report was nothing but a prank and that she was not going to leave Nelly for anybody.
According to her, the breakup report was just like a lesson to show that people are always ready to celebrate others’ downfalls.
“You see people are always waiting for our downfall, no one wants to see you happy. They are running with the jokes. Relationship news only sells when it is hitting the rock bottom. Unions tukiachana leo,” she wrote on Insta stories.
“Nikuachie nani kwani watu hawajui jokes,” she added.
She also captioned a separate video with Nelly telling him that he can not leave her as well because there is something that he will miss.
“You also know you can’t leave me, you will miss that thing so just stay here,” Akothee wrote
Akothee announced their fake breakup on Thursday April 21 saying that she had been dumped by Nelly, who initially worked as her manager.
“Nimeachwa imagine… I am single again. Don’t take this relationship thing personally.Do you remember when I told you I am taken? Well till death do us part just parked and left! I’m single again guys… the road to relationship is always under construction,” the artist shared
Akothee and Nelly Oaks have been dating since 2018 but have had an on and off relationship.
