Former Nairobi county Assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi lodged a scathing attack against Deputy President William Ruto.
During an Azimio consultative Forum at the Golf Club in Kakamega county, Elachi rubbished Ruto’s bottom-up approach saying that Kenyans are bound to suffer with such an economic model.
“You are the ones who have walked with Baba Raila Odinga, you are the ones who have made us enter this building. Don’t try losing network to those who want to sell us like fried groundnuts, people who love money.
“I want to tell Moses Wetang’ula, you have traversed this country all the years and we have respected you but this issue of carrying someone in the pocket and then you finish it elsewhere, the one we are walking with is Raila Amollo Odinga,” Elachi affirmed.
Elachi painted DP Ruto as a selfish person saying that no Kenyan will benefit from his government once he ascends to power.
“This guy from Sugoi is the one making our lives difficult. Someone who is insulting the president, what will he do to us? He is telling us bottom-up, that bottom means he will come here in Kakamega to sell cabbage at Kshs3 because he has planted them in a whole farm. What will you, a farmer, sell? Both of you have avocados, when he sells one at a shilling, the market will be destroyed because of inflation.
“He is the one who has made electricity prices go up because he is the only one who made these electric poles you are seeing and sold us. Now if you want to be a president and yet you are a businessman in the government, will anybody get anything from that government?” Elachi posed.
She further questioned why ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi decided to work with DP Ruto saying that maybe he was cursed to never assume the country’s top seat.
