Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe has threatened to table a motion, seeking to impeach Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.
Speaking at the launch of a school administration block in his constituency, Mugabe threatened to take the action against the CS due to capitation funds for schools.
“Capitation money is not reaching schools. Last year, schools didn’t’ t receive 100% capitation. It even didn’t get to 60%. The same trend is being witnessed this year.
“Teachers are not receiving money, principals and headteachers are struggling because there is no money from the government to schools, and yet it is the children’s right, ” he said.
The lawmaker noted that Machogu’s impeachment would be a serious, adding that that of Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi was just a drop in the ocean.
“You have money to do all the other things but when it comes to schools’ capitation you start giving us stories. I am warning Machogu and his team to prioritize capitation money because this is the money that will help children from the poor backgrounds.
“If you don’t do that we will summon you in parliament. Ile ya Linturi ilikuwa kionjo.You are playing with a poor man’s child.We will unite and impeach you Machogu. I know this will get full support from Kenyans,” Mugabe said.
