Wycliffe Oparanya has instructed Azimio leader Raila Odinga a handshake with President William Ruto.
“We want you to fight for your victory and become the president of Kenya,” he said.
While addressing supporters at Azimio rally in Kisumu on Saturday, Oparanya stated that if Raila opts for a handshake, he will be left alone.
He dismissed the prospect of a handshake, claiming that Raila should fight for his claimed stolen victory.
“As part of your team, if you decide to go for a handshake with Ruto, you will remain alone because you win every election but it is taken away from you,” says Oparanya.
Last year, Ruto urged legislators to create the position of Leader of the Opposition.
He emphasized that it is core component of what will enhance governance in public institutions.
As leaders voiced their opinions on the issue, his proposal drew harsh criticism.
Others thought the president was completely right, while others thought it was a plot to reach an agreement with Raila.
Raila, on the other hand, has stated unequivocally that he does not want a handshake or any form of negotiation with Ruto.
