Sanaipei Tande was recently interviewed and she shared why she has never worked with controversial artist Willy Paul.
Sanaipei said that Willy Paul had approached her multiple times to work with her on a music project but she rejected his requests.
The Amina hitmaker said that she only works with relevant people and does not like public stunts like Willy Paul.
Aside from that, the songstress mentioned that she considers an artist’s discipline before engaging him or her in a collaboration.
“I don’t do kiki [publicity stunts] and I always do music that is relevant to people. I don’t follow the crowd as well. First, content and talent. And how you carry yourself around people is also a determination. Willy Paul asked for a collabo privately and I responded privately, so if he did not understand, then he has a problem. I have already decided and so my no should be respected,” the veteran singer said.
Willy Paul is however disappointed by Sanaipei’s statement since she is a person that he has admired so much.
“I think it’s sad because it is someone I grew up listening to. It’s so unfortunate that someone I have admired could talk like that. You know such is life,” the I Do hitmaker told Mpasho.
Willy Paul confirmed that he had requested to work with Sanaipei just as her fan on a number of occasions
“It was some time ago, then recently. After all, anyone who sees this should know that I wanted to sing with her cause I was her fan.”
He went on to say that if they could work together, he would bring a lot to their work as compared to the songstress because of the clout-chasing.
“First thing, I am A-list. If we were to collaborate, I would bring more to the collaboration than she would. Yes. This should make her know that me asking for a collabo was simply because I am a fan and that she was someone I had grown up listening to,” the artist said
