Barely four months after landing a job in Nairobi County, Willis Raburu has called it quits.
The former Citizen TV presenter announced that he has resigned from the Nairobi county committee activities.
“This morning, I have officially informed the leadership of the county that I will no longer be serving in my current capacity as the Chair of the Nairobi Festival Committee. It has been an honour to work alongside Governor Sakaja and his administration, and I would like to express my deep gratitude for the trust and opportunity that they have extended to me during my time here,” Raburu stated.
The father of two went ahead to explain why he arrived at the decision.
“This decision is driven by a recognition of the pressing need for systemic change to enhance the effectiveness of our service delivery and leadership. It’s clear that to better serve the county and its residents, a more comprehensive look at existing systems is essential, which to be fair, have already been instituted and I wish them all the best in this regard,” he said.
He however noted that he will continue supporting the county government from ‘ a different vantage point and will continue working towards the betterment’ of the community.
Raburu landed the position in July this year just a month after exiting Citizen TV, where he hosted 10/10 show among other shows. He quit Royal media after 13 years.
In August, he landed another opportunity at TV 47 where he has been hosting the Friday show.
