The Deputy President of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto has sprung out to prove that he didn’t come to play in the hotly contested politics in the country.
William Ruto has stepped in to stop a Raila Odinga’s power move that was actioned by James Orengo.
James Orengo through an official letter moved to remove Narok Senator, Ledama Ole Kina from being the chairman of County Public Accounts and Investment Committee(CPAIC).
Earlier on Thursday, Orange Democratic Movement had discharged Ledama from the position in a letter signed by Siaya Senator James Orengo.
Through his proxy, Senate Majority Leader, Kipchumba Murkomen wrote to the Speaker of the Senate, Ken Lusaka and requested him to have the position of CPAIC chair open to be contested by all parties, not just the minority.
“We shall be moving an amendment to Senate Standing Order 220 to ensure that any Senator can have a chance to serve as a chair of the committee notwithstanding the political side they belong,” Murkomen wrote.
Murkomen still stands by the notion of every Senator deserving an equal responsibility to oversight their respective counties notwithstanding their political party.
Narok Senator, Ledama Ole Kina, on the other hand, maintained that the letter by the ODM Senator had no basis, adding that he had already chaired his second meeting in the elected position.
