Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo has left Azimio la Umoja supporters happy after he was captured sweet talking the team’s supporters in Kiambu.
Kabogo, who is vying for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat under his Tujibebe Wakenya Party called upon Raila’s followers in the county to vote for him as they will be voting for the Orange Democratic Movement leader.
“I am requesting Raila Odinga’s followers if you vote for Raila Odinga, vote for governor Kabogo,” Kabogo said.

The remarks have been seen as an endorsement of Raila by Kabogo in his stronghold after his bitter fallout with Kenya Kwanza.
Kabogo, until recently was part of Kenya Kwanza, but after facing off with UDA’s gubernatorial candiadte Kimani Wamatangi during a rally in Kiambu, he decided to embark on solo campaigns.
Kabogo and Moses Kuria jointly agreed to keep off Kenya Kwanza campaigns complaining of several issues in a statement including sidelining of their parties Tujibebe and Chama Cha Kazi.
They further alleged that UDA’s gubernatorial aspirant for Kiambu Kimani Wamatangi was being favored more by the alliance.
“It was agreed that the primary objective of the UDA party in Kiambu was to campaign for senator Wamatangi as the UDA candidate for gubernatorial seat,” part of their statement read.
Days later, Kuria seemed to have forgotten his joint objective with Kabogo and he was back to Kenya Kwanza team events. Kuria is also an aspirant in the hotly contested seat.
Another issue that the former governor also has is the choice of Rigathi Gachagua as William Ruto’s running mate, whom he referred to as a dictator.
Latest opinion polls however indicate that he is leading in the race with 35.1%, Wamatangi comes second with 23.6%, the incumbent James Nyoro is third with 18.4% while Kuria is at the sixth position with 5%.
