The family of the late Nakuru Doctor James Gakara on Monday held a requiem mass for their loved ones at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Nakuru county.
During the service, Dr. James Gakara’s lifeless body was placed in between his two children whom he murdered (Karuana and Dylan).
However, one thing that stood out was how the wife Winnie Odhiambo selectively mourned the departed souls with her focus mostly on the two kids and not the husband.
Perhaps, the wife was so much disappointed with the husband for killing their kids even in death after he killed their only two angels.
In a moving tribute for her two children, Winnie who had been married to the Nakuru doctor for 7 years recalled how her daughter was acting strangely weeks prior to her sudden demise.
“I remember on that fateful day, my girl Karwana woke up unusually early – at 5.45 am.
I was away in Nairobi; you told your nanny to sleep with you a little longer, and then called me and told me you are afraid and very sad!!! I can’t help but wonder now if you were having a premonition.
I can’t help but think – what if I had run back home to be with you?” Winnie shared.
She further added that the daughter was so happy after she was promised an outing where she would be treated well.
“Later in the day you called again and were so excited about the day you and Didi were going to have with daddy. You told me he was taking you out for milkshakes and video games and then to the pool.
I knew I was going to hear from you again after the outing so you could tell me how it went,” she recalled.
As a result, she looked forward to meeting her two kids in Nairobi the next day, only to receive a shock of her life after she found them lifeless.
“I was looking forward to meeting you the next day in Nairobi. When that call didn’t come; my blood ran cold. I ran back home only to find both my babies lifeless. I am lost.
How am I supposed to be your mother one day and not the next? They say that grief is love that has no place to go. I believe that now. May God receive you my angels. You were too good to be true.
