ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi has insisted that it is time for ODM leader Musalia Mudavadi to step aside from Vying for presidency.
According to Musalia, it will be prudent for him to leave the contest for other people who also want to try their luck since he has tried for a number of times without success.
“I have carried my friend Tinga for a very long time. In 2007 I was behind him, in 2017, I was even his chief campaigner. Weta also carried him twice, 2013 and 2017.
“This guy, we support you twice and then when we express our intentions, when will he sacrifice for us, he just wants to bring jam so that we also don’t proceed. We are tired, tell him to ease the congestion so that others can also go forward,” Musalia said in Butula during the Kenya Kwanza rally.
Musalia went ahead to reveal that president Uhuru Kenyatta is the patron of Azimio la Umoja movement, under which Odinga will be seeking the country’s top position.
“The patron of Azimio is president Uhuru Kenyatta. He is done with his two terms but it seems he has a problem with retirement just like Kibaki because he has brought the Azimio project. In that project he has put Raila in charge and then he wants to pick his deputy who will be the second project,” the former finance minister claimed.
He further said that political projects never succeed while giving an example of when Kenyatta was also a project that failed.
“The president in his respect should retire and be part of peace initiatives and for Kenyans to get the opportunity of electing their leaders. We don’t want political projects. I also carried president Kenyatta in 2002 as a project together with Ruto, it was difficult but we did not succeed,” Musalia said
