Kalonzo has announced that he will be in the ballot for presidential elections on August 9 under a Wiper ticket.
This came barely moments after ODM leader Raila Odinga announced that his running mate is none other than Martha Karua.
Raila also said that he has nominated Kalonzo as the chief minister in his speech at KICC on Monday in the Azimio government.
While announcing his presidential bid, Kalonzo said that he did not agree with the position that Raila offered him hence the decision to also declare his presidential candidature.
Kalonzo however said that his competitors will be shocked that he beats them completely in Mt. Kenya region.
He said that he had suffered the consequences of bad faith for far too long and a time had come when he felt it was enough.
“For how long do people expect that one Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is the one always to sacrifice and then after sacrificing, they mess up the country,” Kalonzo lamented.
He nominated Andrew Ole Sunkuli as his running mate saying that KANU leader Gideon Moi would have earned the position had One Kenya Alliance not been messed up. OKA is also still under Azimio which endorsed Raila’s candidature.
“Ignore the interviews and what have you. The whole issue was Raila and me and my brothers the president Uhuru Kenyatta and Gideon.
“So it happens that my name is before IEBC as we speak as a presidential candidate for Wiper Democratic Movement and that is a legal position.
“Either way, if OKA had not been messed up under this legal situation, I would have convinced my brother Gideon to be my running mate. I still may have to,” Kalonzo noted.
According the Resume that Kalonzo read, his running mate is aged 59 years and is from Narok county.
