Why CEOs Wants to Blacklist Section of Harvard University Students

Date:

A section of Harvard University students who signed a letter blaming solely Israel for the deadly attacks by Hamas are now at risk of being blacklisted by CEOs in the US.

Led by billionaire hedge fund CEO Bill Ackman, business leaders have called on Harvard University to release the names of the students who signed the letter.

“One should not be able to hide behind a corporate shield when issuing statements supporting the actions of terrorists,” Ackman stated.

Multiple other business leaders, including the CEOs of shopping club FabFitFun, health tech startup EasyHealth and Dovehill Capital Management supported the call from Ackman to name the students.

“I would like to know so I know never to hire these people,” Jonathan Neman, CEO of restaurant chain Sweetgreen, said on X.

Following increased push for the students to be named, some withdrew their signatures.

What Students Said

In a joint statement released by the coalition of Harvard student groups following an attack by Hamas that killed almost 1200 Israelis, they blamed Israel for the conflict.

“We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence,” the statement from the Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups read in part.

The statement added that millions of Palestinians in Gaza have been “forced to live in an open-air prison” and called on Harvard to “take action to stop the ongoing annihilation of Palestinians.”

A footnote at the bottom of the statement said the names of the “original signing organizations have been concealed at this time.”

It is however not clear if Harvard University will release the names of the students who signed the letter but the CEOs are determined to make them face the consequences of their words.

The conflict has however divided different nations posing an even greater danger and risk of escalation.
