It is more than a year since Kenyans voted in the general elections. Despite numerous court battles Kenyans have since moved on and so do politicians.
There are several politicians who worked hard for ODM leader Raila Odinga’s success in the elections. The politicians were very vocal and as days go by, many can’t help it but notice their loud silence in the political scenes. They include;
Hassan Joho
The politician served as governor of Mombasa for two terms since 2013. He is ODM’s deputy party leader. He is one of the politicians that wanted to challenge Raila as the party’s flagbearer in the past elections.
Joho has however taken a back seat on politics and he is currently enjoying his life to the fullest.
From his Instagram posts, Joho has been spending quality time with his children, going for vacations and keeping healthy by working out from time to time time. Aside from that he has also been sharing his spiritual journey.
“Once you are exercising regularly, the hardest thing is to stop it,” he captioned one of his gym posts.

2. Wycliffe Oparanya
Oparanya also wanted to challenge Raila for the ODM ticket in last year’s elections. He is also ODM’s deputy party leadr. Just like Joho, he ended up supporting the ODM party leader to the very end and even during post-elections battle.
Oparanya’s media presence especially has dwindled. Recently, he was however accused of embezzling county government funds amounting to Kshs1.3 billion, during his tenure as Kakamega governor.
EACC officials raided his home and confiscated Kshs2 million. A Nairobi court however ordered EACC to return the cash and other items that were seized that are not relevant to the case.
3. Junet Mohammed
The MP was successfully re-elected in the 2022 general elections. The minority Chief whip was one of the most vocal supporters of Raila in person as well as on online media.
His presence on Twitter is however minimal and maybe he decided to solely focus on serving the people of Suna East as he insinuated in parliament.
“Kenyans must know that Members of Parliament are working. Many times Members of Parliament are bashed outside there that they earn for nothing, they earn a lot of allowances. These are the only people who sit up to midnight to do business for this country. And when we are sitting up to midnight, there is no allowance, we are doing it for free because we are serving our country,” he said during a parliamentary session in June this year.
