‘Welcome To Hustler Nation’ Ruto Tells Raila

Date:

The Deputy President William Ruto has finally reached a middle ground of ideas with the former prime minister Raila Odinga on the hustler narrative.

DP Ruto has been preaching the hustler narrative for the longest time using it as his political trademark.

Over the weekend, Raila took a swipe at the Deputy President stating that the country is made up of peasants and that the idea of dynasties is mistaken. Instead Raila asked Ruto to give Kenyans a manifesto instead of capitalizing on the country’s poverty levels to gain support.

However, Ruto has welcomed the decision by ODM leader Raila Odinga to recognise Kenya as a hustling nation.

“Now that the country is in agreement that Kenya is a hustling nation, leaders should respect the hustle of every single Kenyan,” he said.

He implored those in positions of power not to look down on hustlers.

“I welcome all those who have finally agreed that we all belong to the hustler nation. Let us now move to the next level and avoid blackmail , threats and intimidation and have respect for everyone,” he added.

Ruto now wants leaders to address issues affecting Kenyans, saying the conversation around the constitutional review should not overshadow the existing problems in the country.

DP Ruto spoke during a prayer service at the Africa Inland Church in Ziwani where Reverend Joshua Kimuyu was installed as the new presiding Bishop for A.I.C Nairobi Area.

He later addressed Gikomba residents during a stop-over at the populous market.

He was accompanied by among others; Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, MPs Kimani Ichung’wa (Kikuyu), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Goerge Theuri (Embakasi West), James Gakuya (Embakasi North), John Kiarie (Dagoretti South) and Sylvanus Osoro (South Mugirango)

Ruto said Kenya’s population falls under the hustler nation, hence the need to address the slew of issues affecting the common mwananchi.

“Let us now agree that the priority of Government would be aligned to the needs of those without jobs, food, decent homes and struggling businesses.”
