“We Are Not In Negotiations With Ruto” ODM Sets Record Straight

ODM has denied claims of being in negotiations with the the government for political favours.

In a a statement from the party’s secretary general Edwin Sifuna, the partying warned any of its member that will avail themselves for an alliance with the government will be doing so on an individual level.

“As a Party, we wish to make it unequivocally clear that we are not in negotiations with the Ruto regime for any coalition or political arrangement,” said Sifuna. “Any ODM member who makes themselves available to join the Kenya Kwanza cabinet or any other position should know that they do so without the blessing or support of the Party,” Sifuna stated.

The party noted that it is committed to the ongoing struggle aimed at making Kenya better.

“We will continue to stand with the people and fight for the justice and reforms our nation desperately needs,” ODM said.

The party further insisted on several matters that must be addressed before it engages in a national conversation that was called for by President William Ruto.

Firstly, the party wants families of victims of extrajudicial killings compensated as well as those who have been injured over the same, from last year.

The party is also demanding the release of those being held on custody and all cases related to protests since last year terminated.

ODM further wants the prosecution of all police officers involved in shooting of protestors as well as the firing of Nairobi County Police Commander Adamson Bungei.
