A video linked to the incident where controversial Meru senator Mithika Linturi sneaked into a woman’s hotel room has emerged on social media.
According to the 39 seconds long video, Linturi, who is seated on a bed in a T-shirt and a towel wrapped around his waist, is confronted by several people at the hotel over his immoral action.
He is heard blaming his actions of over drunkenness while insisting that he had a woman in his hotel room who was also drunk but he could not tell where she was.
“How can you forget? When you are at home, do you go to sleep in your children’s bedroom or? Just be sincere?” another guest is heard questioning him.

Linturi is facing charges of attempted rape and indecent act with an adult .The incident occurred on January 30,2021 at around 3 am at Maiyan Villas in Nanyuki.
According to court documents, when Linturi entered the room that the woman was in, she thought that it was her husband who was back and since the lights were off she could not tell that it was a stranger. The person began touching her unusually without uttering a word.
Later on, someone knocked on her door and when she went to check, she was shocked to find her husband standing at the door and that made her realize that there was a stranger in her room thus raising alarm.
Linturi has however been denying the allegations and at one point, before the matter was taken to court, he accused the couple of extortion after they had agreed to settle the issue amicably.
The video comes at a time when Linturi is suspected to have been involved with the deletion of key evidence(photographs and videos) relating to the case.
Detectives are however conducting forensic analysis and reconstruction on relevant mobile phones.
