A flashy Bishop based in New York City on Sunday lost over $1 million in a robbery incident that occurred in his church during a sermon that was being live streamed.
In a video that has been widely shared on social media, Lamor Whitehead, 44, was in the middle of his sermon when three armed robbers with masks covering their heads and faces barged into church wielding guns.
Lamor stopped preaching and lay flat on the ground as the robbers charged at him passing in front of the camera. The robbers could be seen searching him and picking whatever they could.
It is alleged that the bishop and his 38-year old wife were the ones who got robbed and at the time of the incident, they were dressed in jewelry worth over $1 million.
Some of the things the couple lost include, $75,000 Rolex watch, $75,000 Cavalier watch, $25,000 Episcopal ruby and diamond ring, $25,000 Episcopal diamond ring, $25,000 pair of earrings, $20,000 diamond and emerald cross, $20,000 Episcopal ring, $20,000 Episcopal cross and a $10,000 Episcopal gold cross.
After accomplishing their mission, the robbers escaped in a Mercedes Benz where they could be seen changing their clothes.

Speaking after the incident, the bishop claimed that he was targeted because of his celebrity status adding that it was not his fault that he got robbed because he is free to buy whatever he wishes.
The man of God is known for flaunting his expensive Gucci suits, diamond and gold chains as well as luxury cars.
He claimed that he saw the faces of the thugs as much as they were putting on masks.
“When I saw them come into the sanctuary with their guns, I told everybody [to] get down, everybody just get down. I didn’t know if they wanted to shoot the church up or if they were just coming for a robbery. They took all of my wife’s jewelry and took all of my jewelry(Including a wedding ring), and then they left. ” the bishop recounted.
He has since offered a reward of $50,000 to anyone with information that will lead to the arrest of the robbers.
Lamor is however not new to controversies. Previously, he served five years in prison for identity fraud.
