A good number of Kenyans have ripped big from an accident that saw a lorry carrying bales of maize flour from an unidentified company overturn along Mombasa road near Ole Sereni.
Videos shared online show boda boda riders, pedestrians and even motorists streaming at the scene and walking away with bales of the maize flour without any restrictions.
Those with motorbikes and cars were advantaged because they could carry more than one bale of the maize flour.

A section of netizens have condemned the actions, which is literally looting, saying that the business owner will suffer great losses while others justified the actions by blaming the high cost of living as well as high prices of maize flour.
“The government has chosen to ignore those at the bottom, it’s now it’s responsibility to refund the businessman because of inadequate security to his goods,” one said.
“That’s how they got their subsidy, in form of road accident. Mungu anapenda watu wake!” another said.
“People are hungry so they got no other choice than taking advantage where it’s necessary but that’s not stealing,” said another.
