Cate Waruguru, Lakipia Woman Representative, has come out to boldly declaring his support for the Deputy President William Ruto but with conditions attached on it.
Warunguru, who was once a close associate to the DP Ruto, stated that his support for Ruto’s Presidential bid is guaranteed but only at the right time.
Justifying her sentiments, She claimed that President Uhuru’s tenure is still on and that all leaders should support him till when his term will come to an end.
Speaking to a congregation at ACK St Andrews Nanyuki church on Sunday, August 6, the woman rep said she knew what she was doing reiterating she was praying for the top two leaders.
“My people please listen to me, I am serving the government of the day, William Ruto, when his time comes to be president, I will be after him, backing him because there is no government that comes in place mistakenly,” she said.
On graft, Waruguru called on Uhuru to ensure Cabinet secretaries and other state officers implicated in corrupt dealings in the COVID-19 funds are arrested with immediate effect.
“We want those people mentioned to be taken to court with immediate effect, We don’t want to see committees formed and the issue ends at that point when this country will start prosecuting big fish, that is the time Kenyans will start getting justice,” Waruguru said.
The MP said the country will become serious in the fight against corruption the day corrupt individuals will be charged and taken to prison.
Waruguru also called on the president to reopen the economy and allow Kenyans to do business so that parents can access school fees as the government prepares to reopen schools.
This came days after Waruguru tore into CSs Fred Matiang’i and Mutahi Kagwe for allegedly “dreaming” of getting Uhuru’s endorsement to vie as president and deputy president respectively, in the 2022 General Election.

The vocal lawmaker accused the two state officers of absconding their duties and salivating for political seats in the upcoming polls.
“Our son from Laikipia Mwangi Kiunjuri was accused of politicking and shown the door by the president, we want the president to do the same to Kagwe and Matiangi, they can’t be crisscrossing the country with long motorcades engaging in 2022 politics instead of working for Kenyans, “Waruguru stated.
