Kiriyage County Governor has skipped a security meeting organized by Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho within her county.
PS Kibicho who was on a tour within the county to assess and address security issues and make follow-ups on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s projects was accompanied by the other three Principle Secretaries.
Missing at the meeting was the county boss who for some time has been at loggerhead with the Interior PS.
The embattled Governor accused Kibisho of sponsoring her impeachment motion at the county assembly for his self motives.
“In case PS Kibicho wants to get involved in the village politics, then he should resign and join others in the early campaigns,” Waiguru said.

The relationship between the two began to deteriorate back in 2019 and later escalated after they clashed over government projects within the county.
In February this year, PS Kibicho reportedly denied Kirinyaga leaders a chance to be part of his meeting held within the county. At the tour, Kibicho labeled Governor Waiguru’s move to drag some county projects as sheer stupidity and she denied Kiriyaga residents their development rights.
Governor Waiguru has accused PS Kibicho of sponsoring MCAs to impeach her on flimsy accusations. “He is sponsoring my impeachment at the county assembly on flimsy accusations, I want to tell him to come slow and wait until 2022 when the people will decide,” Waiguru said.

The current developments come after seven of the Kirinyaga MCAs walked out of the Jubilee Party meeting on Tuesday, citing that they were being coerced to reverse their decision on Governor Waiguru’s impeachment.
The MCAs claimed they were being compelled to denounce the impeachment motion tabled at the county assembly. The county’s nominated MCA decided to walk out of the meeting after Kirinyaga county officials availed the paper to sign and drop the motion.
