UON Forced To Declare Ruto’s Degree As Very Fake And Forged

Date:

The University of Nairobi (UON) has been forced to declare deputy president William Samoei Ruto’s online degree as very fake and forged.

Since Thursday, there had been a certificate linked to William Ruto that had been going rounds on the social media and according to the document, the deputy president had allegedly graduated with second class honors, Lower Division.

However, the University of Nairobi in a quick rejoinder flagged the academic document as fake, something which has left Kenyans wondering whether William Ruto was an alumni of the UON or not.

The certificate showed that the deputy president graduated in 1990 having successfully completed a bachelor of degree in Botany.

Ruto’s degree went viral just a day after he accused the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga of not owning any certificate as he defended the Nairobi United Democratic Alliance (UDA) gubernatorial flag bearer Johnson Sakaja.

According to the Kenya Kwanza boss, Sakaja had all the necessary academic certificates and ought not to be asked to prove the same by the government.

Ruto added that the deep state went to the extent of making phone calls to the neighboring Uganda just to frustrate senator Sakaja. The deputy president did not however provide evidence of his allegation with regards to a call being made to the Statehouse in Uganda.

On his side, Johnson Sakaja who has refused to produce his genuine academic documents has maintained that he went to school and graduated. He has further gone to court to declare him innocent instead of producing the papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to clear him.
