Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s son, Jomo has now dropped a bid to sue the government over plans to withdraw is firearms.
Jomo withdrew the case he had filed in 2023 following a raid at his house.
However, Jomo dropped the case after the government agreed not to interfere with his firearms license.
The consent was adopted by High Court judge Jairus Ngaah on Wednesday January 31, setting way for the case withdrawal.
The parties further agreed that the Firearms Licensing Board does not intend to withdraw the license and that it will follow the procedure laid out in the Firearms Act, in dealing with Jomo.
“By consent, this matter is hereby marked as settled,”Justice Ngaah said.
Jomo moved to court in July last year after police officers stormed his Windy Ridge home in Karen and demanded that he surrenders his firearms.
He argued that the move was in violation of his constitutional rights.
