Deputy president William Samoei Ruto has taken on president Uhuru Kenyatta after he fired the Commissioner-General of Prisons Service Mr. Wycliffe Ogallo.
While speaking on Thursday, DP Ruto told off president Uhuru Kenyatta as he reminded him to stop mistreating and sacrificing junior police officers.
According to Ruto, president Uhuru Kenyatta ought to have dealt with the big fish at the security docket such as interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i and interior permanent secretary Karanja Kibicho.
Ruto made these sentiments in the wake of dismissing Wycliffe Ogallo a day after three terror suspects escaped from the Kamiti Maximum Prison.
The second in command in an indirect attack to the interior CS and PS told them to focus on securing the country as opposed to involving themselves in active politics.
Other leaders who accompanied DP Ruto such as governor Anne Waiguru also took a swipe at the head of state for firing the head of Kamiti Prisons Charles Mutembei, his deputy Joseph Longorianyang and boss Wycliffe Ogallo.
Waiguru even blamed Uhuru for appointing the likes of Karanja Kibicho in such high offices. The governor claimed that the permanent secretary was involving himself in politics instead of serving the country.
“Nataka kuambia mheshimiwa rais kwa heshima, Kirinyaga haijakosa watu wa kuandika serikali. Lakini huyo Kibicho amewacha kazi kwa serikali ameenda kufanya siasa. Tukimwambia tuwache siasa anatuambia tumeze wembe ama tujinyonge.
“Huyo Kibicho tunataka kusema aende na kama ni Kirinyaga vijana wa Kirinyaga ni wengi ambao wanaweza kutii sheria na kufuata sheria vilivyo. Tuseme Kibicho aende.” Said Waiguru.
However, these sentiments did not go well with Wangui Ngirici who castigated Waiguru for being hypocritical . She wondered why the county boss was condemning president Uhuru Kenyatta despite urging netizens to respect the head of state two years ago.
