Ugandan Man Suspected Of Killing A Woman By Throwing Her Off The Balcony Arrested

A Ugandan man who was on the run after the gruesome murder a 25-year old woman in Nyali, Mombasa has been arrested by DCI detectives.

According to the police report, Suleiman Mayanja was arrested by detectives while hiding at the Nyali Cinemax.

The suspect arrived in the country last month through the Busia border and proceeded to Mombasa.

He had sent a runner who is a cab driver to collect his belongings from the hotel room that he had booked on September 30. The driver was however unaware that undercover detectives were manning the hotel building.

He was seized by the cops who interrogated him for a few minutes before he was whisked to a police car that was waiting by. The car then sped off towards the suspect’s hideout.

Detectives in Nyali established that the suspect who was in the country on September 1, was not familiar with the deceased previously.

Before the incident, the two had met a day earlier at a popular joint where they had fun. They were meeting for the second time when the unfortunate incident happened.

The deceased had joined the Ugandan national on Sunday night in the rented apartment before she met her death at 3 am on Monday morning.

The suspect is believed to have pushed her from the balcony of the apartment.

A guard at the apartment said that he heard screams followed by a loud bang on the fateful morning. He rushed to the scene and found a half-dressed woman lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

The guard informed janitors at the hotel who rushed to the scene and identified the woman who had been invited by Mayanja.

On checking his room, they found him missing and immediately reported the matter to the Nyali based DCI agents.
