Godfrey Mapesa, an aspirant for the Lumakanda Ward post in the 2022 general election has died following an early morning accident.
In a post shared on Sunday April 14, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale revealed that his fellow United Democratic Alliance (UDA) politician was travelling in a personal car when he met his death.
His car is reported to have crashed in the Mwamba area in Lugari, Kakamega County.
By the time of publishing this article, details surrounding the accident were still scanty. It is still unclear if the MCA was the only fatality in the morning incident.
Mapesa attempted to vie for the Lumakanda MCA seat in 2022 on a UDA ticket but lost to the current sitting MCA,Benard Wanyonyi Mulama Bokanda.
