United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is holding its National Delegates Convention at the Kasarani indoor arena, Nairobi.
The much anticipated NDC will see DP William Ruto get endorsed as the flagbearer of the party as Kenyans wait patiently to see who will be named as his running mate.
Earlier rumors had it that Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua is set to deputize Ruto and that she would attend the NDC, claims she has vehemently dispelled.
The press was however asked to leave the auditorium to grant the party delegates some privacy as announced by Japher Muthomi alias MC Jessy who will be vying for Imenti South Parliamentary seat under the UDA ticket.
“I would love to announce to you this, His Excellency, the fifth presidential hopeful is already here. I want to inform you that we will welcome him with ululations. The media people, all that are here, all the media houses we will allow you to be here, cover when his excellency makes his entrance but when we are finished with prayers, I request that you give us some privacy but when we are done we will welcome you back to Nairobi,” Jessy said.
The NDC comes just days after DPÂ Ruto was interviewed at the hustler plaza for the UDA presidential nominations.
The interviews took place on Saturday March 12, with two other candidates getting disqualified over lack of nomination fee and proper documents.
Tracy Wanjiru and Jephnia Orina were competing with DP Ruto for the presidential nomination, a move that was widely criticized with Kenyans claiming that UDA was just stage-managing their support for democracy.
