Uber Driver Begged For Her Life Before Being Killed

Date:

A 22-year old man was arrested in connection with the murder of a 38-year old woman who was a an Uber driver.

Calivin Crew, was arrested and charged on February 17 with three counts of criminal homicide, robbery and tampering with evidence following the death of Christina Spicuzza.

According to a criminal complaint and Pennsylvania(USA) police, the mother of four begged for her life before Crew, who was her passenger, shot her on the head and killed her.

The criminal complaint filed at Pittsburgh court says that Spicuzza picked up Crew for an Uber ride on the night of February 10, when he pulled a gun on her. The driver however begged him not to kill her because she had a family.

“Come on, I have a family, I am begging you,  I have four kids,” Spicuzza told her assailant  according to dashcam footage.

Her family was compelled to file a missing person report when the deceased failed to return home.

GPS indicates that Spicuzza drove in several neighborhoods with Crew as his passenger. Her phone history also shows that money transfer apps on her phone were accessed during the drive. The driver’s body was discovered two days later by the roadside by an Amazon driver.

The police are yet to establish what was stolen from the deceased. They are also determining whether Crew’s girlfriend would be charged since she was the one who ordered for the Uber drive on his behalf.

The police also believe that the victim and the suspect were not known to each other.

On the other hand, Uber spokesperson said that the company banned accounts for the person who ordered for the trip and the suspect’s,

“We have been in touch with law enforcement to support investigation and are grateful for everything they have done,” a statement by Uber read.
