Deputy president William Ruto and ODM leader and flag bearer for Azimio-OKA Raila Odinga took to social media to exchange words over Jacaranda chaos.
DP Ruto’s rally at the venue was marred with violence that left five people injured including Francis Mureithi, UDA parliamentary candidate for Embakasi East.
The second in command’s car was also pelted with stones as he made entry into the venue.
Ruto attacked Raila accusing him of being behind the incident through a tweet and referred to him as the lord and father of violence.
He said that Raila hired youths to cause the chaos and noted that freedom will be coming in August.
“Mr Kitendawili, the lord of violence, has done it again: Hired innocent, desperate & jobless young people, victims of his sabotage of the big4 jobs plan, to shed innocent blood in his eternal quest for power. What a shame on fathers day Mr. Father of violence. Freedom is coming Aug 9th,” Ruto said.
Raila could also not let the comment pass by. He blasted Ruto over his fake promises and bashed him for blaming people for his misfortunes.
“Mr Six months, for how long will you blame everyone for everything that befalls you. It’s not okay to be rudderless, clueless and plan-less. This country is slowly overcoming fraudsters and shortcuts that define your politics. Maliza uende. There is no room for sympathy votes!” Raila remarked.
This is not the first time Raila and Ruto are having such a scene on social media. Earlier this month, during the heated debate about Raila’s plan to ban Mitumba(secondhand clothes) which he said are dead people’s clothes, Ruto took to Twitter to throw a jab at the ODM leader over that.
“Trickle down is dangerous. They branded business people’s merchandise counterfeit & destroyed them. Now clothing enterprises are dealers in dead-people’s wares to be banned. BOTTOM UP, using TVET will assist these enterprises grow from sewing, cottage to textile & leather industry.
On the other hand, Raila responded to him with an old video of Ruto saying they will stop importation of items such as second hand clothes, shoes and chairs.
