There was a dramatic moment during the Azimio la Umoja forum on Wednesday when a man demanded for more money from the leaders.
The old man, who was among the speakers during the event, claimed that he had come all the way from Kericho and he was not going to take Kshs 2000 home as a token for attending the forum.
The forum had brought together ODM leader Raila Odinga and leaders from the South Rift.
“Na mtusaide, siwezi toka Kericho halafu mnipatie elfu mbili, hio ni utoto kabisa. Mimi ni mzee na elfu mbili no. Tunataka pesa. Neno lingine nikimalizia mimi naomba vile kijana mmoja amesema mheshimiwa Raila nisikize..(Help us, I can not come all the way from Kericho only for you give to me Kshs 2000, that is childish. I am old man and as I finish, honourable Raila listen to me…) he said but was cut short by loud music that was played to relieve the uneasiness.

The video has elicited reactions among Kenyans with some claiming that Azimio la Umoja pays people to attend rallies.
“Here is proof People Are Paid to Attend Azimio Rallies. Handshakecheque!” Silvia Wangechi said while referring to the video.
“Watu wa Azimio mnatoa wasee Kericho ati defectors from South Rift alafu you give them 2K, next time coach your people well muache aibu,” Arap Tilingi said.
“Azimio La Fujo, can you be serious for once. How can you defraud KEMSA and then give your ‘delegate’ Ksh 2,000? The old Mzee has travelled all the way from Kericho. Inaonekana mnataka laana,” Morgan Ke noted.
Drama in political forums is nowadays common. During the Azimio la Umoja rally at Tononoka grounds in Mombasa on Sunday, a person in the crowd threw a water bottle towards Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir as he was introducing various aspirants, forcing him to take his seat.
