Trevor Ombija was forced to bring the Daybreak show at Citizen TV to a break after one of his panelists could no longer be controlled.
During the Friday’s show, Trevor was hosting entrepreneur Steve Biko, youth leader Rebeccaa Moraa of Strugglers Movement and Ruth Ambogo to discuss matters touching on youths and governance.
Trevor and Ambogo engaged in a heated verbal confrontation after he intervened when Ambogo was accusing her fellow panelists of peddling lies against her.
Trevor asked Ruth to outline strategies that she believes can be used to create jobs.
She however deviated from the topic while arguing that the last time she was in a political interview was on Monday, stating that the interview with Trevor was also her last as a panelist.
“You will not hear from me on matters politics. For a very long time, I have suggested policy changes that have been adopted by the government and no one believes so. These young people seated here are pushing the narrative that I am just but an appointee,” said an agitated Ruth.
She claimed that she was denied jobs because she did not have a degree.
“I am not serving any master. I got to that office by merit. For a very long time, I was denied government appointments because I did not have a degree. Now I am graduating with a First Class Honours in Law from Strathmore University. The group sat down and peddled lies against me,” she added.
“The group sat down analysed Cabinet positions and accorded to themselves. All the CASs appointed to office are wrongfully holding these positions as most of them are in relationships with senior government officials. If you want me to list them I will,” Ambogo dared.
Ombija however declined to take the challenge but she went on to say that daughters of Raila was formed to give chance the youths who were denied opportunities.
“You have not answered my question. This is my show. I ask the questions and you answer,” the host chipped in.
“Listen to me Ombija, I will finish my statement. I will answer, then leave and never make a statement again,” she interjected.
“You are allowed to leave,” Ombija stated as he requested the news director to take a break as Ruth picked her handbag and walked out of the show.
The show however resumed and the remaining panelists together with the host proceeded with the discussion.
