The war of words and supremacy between DP William Ruto and defense CS Eugene Wamalwa has continued to escalate with the CS releasing an audio to prove why Ruto is not the right choice for Kenya as the next head of state.
In an Azimio la Umoja campaign in Kitale on Friday July 22, Wamalwa played an audio clip claiming to be Ruto’s voice while explaining why he did not support his presidential candidature in 2022 yet he had stood by him and president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017.
“Who lead where, whose land is ancestrally whose, for example the whole of Kitale, the Luhyias, the Kisiis, and many of the sub tribes who are there today will have to move out, because that land ancestrally belongs to the Pokot, Cherangany, Sengwer and the Sabaot,” the speaker says before he is interrupted by another person who tells him, “You are very extreme Mheshimiwa.”
The first speaker however argues saying he is not extreme and whatever he was saying was constitutional.
Wamalwa confirmed to the crowd that it was Ruto who was speaking, saying that he wants to divide people on tribal grounds.
“I have differed with Ruto because in his thoughts and heart he intends to divide people on ethnic grounds,” Wamalwa said.
The CS further took a swipe at ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses over the deal they had with Ruto for them to land positions in government in case Kenya Kwanza emerges victorious in August polls.
“Raila has not given us conditions, the other guy has offered 30% and he has taken with another hand 70% through the conditions because it is impossible. Musalia seems to have now awakened, nowadays he is not walking with Ruto,” Wamalwa said.
He noted that Ruto’s reign will last for 30 years through him, Rigathi Gachagua and Kithure Kindiki leaving the two Luhya leaders with nothing to be proud of.
