Deputy president William Samoei Ruto on Friday led his troops to the Kenya Kwanza rally at Karangatha, Kinangop, Nyandarua county.
While addressing the residents, William Ruto and his allies such as Kipchumba Murkomen claimed that president Uhuru Kenyatta insulted church leaders at the Sagana three meeting.
According to Ruto, the head of state ought to respect the church leaders as opposed to insulting them in public forums like the Sagana meeting.
However, it is not true that president Uhuru Kenyatta insulted church leaders at Sagana because he only castigated these men of God for embracing corruption money. As a result, the president only said that such leaders who worship illicit money will go to hell.
“Some of church leaders have been compromised by huge donations donated by corrupt leaders, I want to say that you should know that it is wrong to lie through the bible and you are heading to Jahannam,” he said in reference to his deputy Ruto.
“The money you are receiving is the same money that was to build dams in Elgeyo Marakwet so that God’s children can get water,” he added.
To be fair to the president, those words did not amount to insulting the church leaders as Ruto and his allies kept preaching in Nyandarua county on Friday. Thus, the deputy president and his allies were not only engaging in rumor mongering but also twisting facts to gain public sympathy for the sake of the 2022 general elections.
Secondly, Ruto and his allies castigated president Uhuru for using state resources to conduct politics. This statement is not only misleading but also lacks sense because William Ruto himself has been crisscrossing the country using government vehicles.
Further, William Ruto is always accompanied by the elite gsu squad who are government employees. Thus, it is clear that William Ruto just like President Uhuru Kenyatta is using state resources to advance their political narratives. Therefore, Ruto condemning the head of state in public rallies for using state resources is dishonest, hypocritical and insensible if not silly.
Thirdly, Ruto claimed that Raila Odinga is a political project being pushed by the state. According to Ruto, Uhuru promised him kumi yake and it would only make sense if he supported him as opposed to supporting someone else like the ODM leader. Whether Ruto could have been a project if Uhuru honored kumi yake is a matter under debate.
In short, it cannot be right for Ruto to claim that Raila is a project and on the other side of the mouth describe the president as an angel if he honored his promise to back. Therefore, these three things said by Ruto and his allies lacked zero sense by all standards.
