East Africa’s number one entrepreneur Esther Akoth Kokeyo popularly known as Akothee is regretting the day she became famous.
The mother of five is regretting that because of the fans’ habit of demanding selfies whenever they bump into celebrities.
Akothee, who is still on the journey to recovery after falling ill in December last year, has asked fans to spare her from the impromptu selfies because of her current situation.
“I regret the day I became famous, this bulshit ain’t getting funny. Even with my neck support and funny face ,some people would still insist on a selfie. Eeee Is this really love ama ni kitu sijui ?
“Sometimes I am in pain and just pushing a little bit of life! Spare me the impromptu photos PLEASE!I KNOW YOU LOVE EVIDENCE! NGOJENI KIDOGO. THE YEAR STARTED ON A ROUGH PITCH FOR ME ! hata Nguvu ya kupiga picha Sina mtanisamehe,” Akothee said.
She also wondered why some fans would never greet them when they meet in public but would rather record them in secrecy.
“Someone tell me why some fans would meet you in a shop not say hi or one word, Pretend like they have not seen you, then immediately take out their phones and start recording you and taking photos and when you notice them they hide,” she stated.
She narrated one of the incidents in which she almost got physical with a fan who recorded her while she was running errands with her family.
“I almost became physical with one who became very rude to my sister-in-law who caught her with a whole movie of me and my family shopping,” Akothee said.
Responding to her concerns, some of her followers claimed that those recording celebrities do so because they love them as others suggested that some do so, so as to send the videos and photos to bloggers such as Edgar Obare.
