Opposition chief Raila Odinga claimed on Saturday that some of his political foes wished him dead when he was taken ill a few months ago in Dubai.
The ODM leader, however, noted that he was fit as a fiddle and ready to work for the people of Kenya.
Speaking at a burial in Bondo Sub-county, Raila said his detractors even alleged that he had lost his speech and would not make a political comeback since he was dying.
“Some of them said I had lost my speech on my deathbed and was being fed using a tube. They were praying that I should die,” he said in his native Dholuo language.
A few months ago the ODM leader was taken to Dubai where he underwent a minor surgery following a problem on his back.
Since jetting back in the country from Dubai July Raila has not visited Nyanza. He was last in his political backyard, Siaya early March according to reports.

The former prime minister also toured the lakeside city, Kisumu on Friday after a five-month absence due to restriction put by the government to curb the spread of coronavirus in the county.
“As you can see I am very fine. I am very okay now and we say to them, washindwe (may they be defeated),” he said.
