It will be upon Rigathi Gachagua to find a way to solve issues between him and President William Ruto, if they ever arise.
This is according to Public Service CS Moses Kuria.
Kuria was speaking at Citizen TV on Tuesday night where he denied claims of fall out between the head of state and his deputy.
” I think from where I sit, there is nothing. I don’t have empirical evidence of any problem between the president and the deputy,” he told Yvonne Okwara.
He added that Gachagua is a privileged man because of the roles Ruto delegates to him. Such duties include instituting coffee and tea reforms, overseeing Nairobi River regeneration as well as initiative aimed at managing disasters.
According to Kuria, the responsibilities Gachagua has should make him serve Kenyans instead of championing for Mt. Kenya issues.
He also said that the privilege of being handed duties by his boss is what Ruto didn’t have during the previous administration.
Kuria however lauded Gachagua for managing cabinet committees well .
“Rigathi Gachagua has done incredibly well in management of the cabinet committees, one of the areas that are performing very well on our cabinet proces,” the CS said.
At the same time, he faulted Gachagua for voicing Mt. Kenya matters saying he will lead the community to isolation.
“Rigathi Gachagua is a divisive figure. Even for my people, the Kikuyu, he’s going to lead them to their isolation. But most importantly, he’s wasting the space that we need to focus on nation-building,” Kuria said.
