‘There Is No Funding For My Homecoming’ Miguna Speaks Ahead Of His Journey Back Home

Date:

Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna is set to return to the country on November 16, 2021 after years of being in exile.

Miguna already has his flight ticketĀ  to Nairobi, Kenya ready which he revealed that he used his Kenyan passport to book.

ā€œFor the avoidance of any doubt, I haacve used my Kenya Passport that Despot Uhuru Kenyatta perforated in February 2018 to book my flight to Kenya, scheduled to arrive in the morning of November 16, 2021 at the JKIA. Let no one claim that I have used any other passport,ā€ the lawyer said in a tweet on October 29.

Miguna has however revealed that he has received lots of messages from Kenyans requesting for permission to welcome him home. He urged Kenyans to stop living like visitors in their own country and embrace their freedoms.

“I have received large volumes of messages requesting permission to welcome me to Kenya. No one needs permission from me, or from anyone else, to go to the JKIA, or anywhere else. Kenyans must embrace ALL their FREEDOMS and stop living as if they are visitors in our own country,” read his tweet.

He further said that there is no funding for his homecoming since he will be taking care of all his expenses.

ā€œDear Kenyans, thank you for the overwhelming support and solidarity which you have emailed, or posted on the social media. Contrary to the despotic propaganda, there is no funding for my homecoming. I’m paying for all my expenses. No one will be paid to come to the JKIA,” he said.

Miguna was deported to Canada in 2018 after inaugurating ODM leader Raila Odinga as the People’s president.

Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga said that he will personally fly to Canada to bring Miguna back to the country.
