Born in Nandi, Chemutai is of Kalenjin tribe.
She recently became the talk of the town after President William Ruto mentioned her name during the win acceptance speech.

Chemutai’s success in her Journalism career can be traced back to Kenya Television Networks (KTN) where is first worked as an intern. Chemutai underwent a thorough mentorship in the media house. The sultry media personality equipped herself with relevant skills that has propelled her to be one of Kenya’s best news reporters.
After the internship, Chemutai was hired by capital Fm as a reporter and news editor. It did not take long for other media houses to notice her. Not long after joining Capital, Media Max contracted her to work for K24 TV.
In 2018 Royal media services (RMS) poached her. She was hired to work for the giant media house Citizen.
Chemutai took the screens by storm. She spiced news with well narrated occurrences of 2017 general elections.
