John Njau Kibe, was a 24 year old working in Qatar.
After falling on December 10 and suffering injuries, John Njau Kibe, passed away on Tuesday, December 13. The family of John Njau Kibe has now stated that they want answers about the circumstances surrounding their loved one’s demise.
Sam Njau, Kibe’s uncle, claimed in a statement from the family’s residence in Dagoretti that his nephew had just concluded his shift following the quarterfinal game between Argentina and the Netherlands and was turning over to the next shift when the tragic tragedy took place.
Njau recollects Kibe’s final moments, adding that he was in a joyful mood since he was cheering on Argentina, which had won the game.
According to Mr. Njau, Kibe was treated there till his unfortunate death at a hospital in Qatar.
“He was very communicative with everyone. He was even sharing images from the matches.”
“As of now we are not blaming the employer or anyone just that the parents are distraught.”
“No one has reached out formally to us, but the Kenyan embassy has taken up the matter.”
“We are still in the dark about what happened. There are some people who were following up but a formal communication has not been made to us,” he further adds.
The only son among three siblings, Kibe moved to Qatar in November of last year in search of better opportunities. According to his uncle, Kibe was always pleased with his work.
