After Mithika Linturi in Meru County, former Devolution CS Charles Keter seems to be another politician who will have a difficult time in achieving his political ambitions.
Keter has come under fire over claims of looting public money and not even his county residents want to associate with him.
According to a clip making rounds on Twitter, a Kericho resident publicly told Keter that he was not going to get the gubernatorial seat.
“Mr. Keter, there is no gubernatorial seat for you in Kericho county and we want to tell Uhuru Kenyatta to supervise Keter. Keter should tell us where he took the resources he looted in Turkana county and now he wants to be the governor of Kericho county. Shame on you,” the local said as the crowd cheered.

In a separate video, a group of youths speaking in the Kalenjin dialect are said to have been planning to use Keter’s money to make posters for their preferred candidate.
“Things are bad for Charles Keter. This group in Kericho are saying that they want to ‘milk’ money from Keter and use the money to make posters for their own hustler who is running for Governor. They say that Keter used to lock his tinted car windows whenever he came home,” read a tweet by Abraham Mutai.

Weighing on the matter, a number of netizens have also called upon residents of Kericho county not to risk voting for the former Devolution CS.
“Charles Keter is not a leader of the people , He’s an extortionist ,looted ministry of energy now wants to descend on Kericho county Government Avoid him at all costs,” Elly Mteule tweeted.
“@ketercharlesis a known tea cartel. Kericho farmers are suffering under the rule of his family members. Senator, Governor, mps and energy ministry. Ruto azimio kipsigis Charles keter,” Chernickies said.
A stiff competition in the gubernatorial race is expected between Keter and University Don Dr. Erick Mutai.
