The Amount Of Millions That Ruto, Gachagua Will Be Pocketing Monthly As Top Government Officials

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission gazetted the amount of money that state officers, that is, president, Deputy president, governors, senators, Member of National Assembly among others, will be getting as salaries for the period of 2022/2023 financial year.

The gazette notice was published last month with SRC noting that it had reviewed salaries for the officers.

“In exercise of the mandate of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), as set out under Article230(4)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, SRC has reviewed the remuneration and benefits for State officers in the Executive of the National Government under the Third Remuneration and Benefits Review Cycle that covers Financial Years (FY) 2021/2022-2024/2025,” SRC said in a statement.

In the notice, the president is expected to pocket Kshs  1,443, 750 monthly, while his deputy will get Kshs1, 227, 188.

Cabinet secretaries will each earn Kshs924,000 with governors also getting the same amount each.

Deputy governors will be paid each Kshs 621, 250 while Members of National Assembly and senators will earn Kshs710,000.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, who is the third most powerful person in the country, will earn 1,160,000. The Senate speaker will also get a similar amount. Their deputies will pocket Kshs928,000.

Members of the Executive committee will each earn Kshs1,160,00.

The Speaker of the County Assembly will pocket Kshs 525,525, his deputy will get Kshs 218, 563, which is the same amount that an MCA will receive.

The above mentioned salaries include benefits such as house and commuter allowances. The salaries are effective August 9.
