A group of unidentified men who claim to have participated in the Tuesday protests are demanding for their wages in full.
In an undated video that was recorded in darkness, to conceal their identities, the individual claimed they were hired by politicians to cause mayhem during the protests that were originally peaceful.
The men who were armed with rungus say that their employers were now ignoring their calls.
They however did not provide the politicians’ identities.
“Nilipigiwa simu asubui, twende hapo City Hall. Tulikuwa watu 50, na mavijana wenzangu. Wakatupatia hizi rungu. Mnatupatia kazi mpaka wengine wanapigwa tear gas…” One of them said .
“Saa hii tunapiga na hizo simu zenyu hazishikwi. Na tushaaokolea jo. Tumeshaawalindia mali zao. Tunaenda mpaka huko Riverside. Mlipiga simu twende City Hall? Pesa yetu mtatupatia!”
They added that they had only received a do.
“Yenye mlitupatia asubui ni downpayment. Hio ingine tunataka. Lazima mtatumalizia. Hatutaki hio ujinga!” they said.
