Health workers at Kimbimbi Sub-county Hospital in Mwea were left tongue-tied after a group of over 300 Boda Boda operator storm the facility and abducted a patient who was under treatment.
The group then dragged the patient from the hospital and took him over 30 kilometers away from the hospital before the lynched him.
Ngangati Senior Chief Immaculate Wanjiru said the deceased was saved by the police on the Mwea-Embu highway from the group who wanted to kill him for allegedly stealing a motorbike.
The victim was then rushed to the hospital after being seriously injured from the attack.
The deceased is said to have confessed to stealing five motorbikes in the past few weeks.
He revealed that the stolen motorbikes were stashed at a hideout in Murinduko.

The Boda Boda operators who were eager to recover the bikes proceeded to Murinduko village only to find they had been played.
They would then make a beeline for the hospital where the deceased was receiving treatment.
The body of the deceased which had been burnt beyond recognition was picked by the police and moved to the Kerugoya Hospital Mortuary.
