Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli claimed that he would have become the father of Deputy President William Ruto.
This is because at the time Ruto was born, Atwoli was completing his studies in high school and even got a job when DP Ruto was just six months old
“This youth who is lying to you was born in December 1966. I was completing my form four in 1966. By then, form four students were mature adults. After six months on June 2, 1967 I was employed when he was six months old. If I would have met the mother, I would have been the father,” Atwoli said as the crowd burst into laughter
He further said that he can not humble himself to seek help from the Deputy President. At the same time he urged the people of Sugoi living around DP Ruto to cut down trees because it is likely that the second in command would commit suicide after the August 9 polls.
“Those who are near William Ruto in Sugoi should cut down trees close to him because on the 9th, the results will be announced and that child will hang himself, Cut down trees,” Atwoli said.
The Cotu boss was speaking in Mombasa during the launch of the Universal Health Cover. Among those in attendance included President Uhuru Kenyatta, Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, governor Martin Wambora among others.
Atwoli’s remarks did not sit well with a section of Kenyans who went to social media to criticize him for disrespecting Ruto’s mother. President Kenya was also not left behind.
“Shame on you Atwoli! And why is Uhuru Kenyatta laughing when Atwoli is Disrespecting the mother of our Deputy president! What kind of a society are we living in Kenya. What are you trying to show our children?” Wambo Kuria said.
“All mothers deserve our respect. More so, the elderly, gracious & pious Mama Sarah who gave birth to a great son of Kenya, the 2nd in command of the republic. That orangutan called Atwoli & those that give him the platform to insult need to be put on notice,” Kericho County senator Aaron Cheruiyot said.
“If it was Uhuru’s mother who got insulted by @AtwoliDza. As per now, Atwoli’s house could be surrounded by; MI6, CIA, NIS, FBI, DCI, PRESIDENTIAL ESCORT and GSU,. Bwana, in Kenya we have got two mothers; there’s Uhuru’s mother, then there’s your mother. This life has no BALANCE,” Mumbi Nbui’s tweet read.
