A police officer in charge security during the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) has been arrested after he was caught on CCTV ransacking and stealing items from female invigilators’ handbags.
The police officer was assigned to Kimulot Secondary School in Bomet County to safe guard students doing KCSE exams. He was captured walking majestically as he entered a room where the invigilators were keeping their purses containing phones, money, and other valuables.
The shameless officer is seen ransacking them one by one.
The yet to be identified police officer allegedly stole their cash and other items, according to three invigilators who later recorded their statements following the unfortunate incident.
The victims helped authorities to build a case against the defendant after watching the video to identify and apprehend the criminal in uniform.
According to the county police chief, the Administration Police officer who was allegedly captured on surveillance footage stealing from KCSE invigilators at Kimulot Secondary School in Bomet has been suspended.
