Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei on Monday revealed that the elections will work in favor of the opposition leader Raila Odinga and not William Ruto.
Senator Cherargei who spoke on Monday afternoon alleged without providing any tangible evidence that the 2022 general elections had been rigged a long time ago.
Apparently, the evidence he provided was the fact that cabinet secretaries holding key government positions had already declared their support for the opposition leader Raila Amollo Odinga.
“I have seen Joe Mucheru, Eugene Wamalwa and Fred Matiang’i. These people should protect the country, but we saw them recently declare their support for Raila Odinga.” He said.
He added that the three cabinet ministers retaining their positions was the first sign that the elections would be unfair. As a result, he called upon president Uhuru Kenyatta to fire all the three ministers if he values the peace of the nation.
“I want to request President Kenyatta that in the interest of the peace and integrity of elections in this country, they must be fired or given lighter duties,”
“There is no way we can have the Minister of Interior, Defence and Information and Communications Technology support one candidate as we approach the General Election,” Cherargei stated.
The senator further claimed that shall the three cabinet secretaries retain their positions, then it will be very unfair for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) since there will be no integrity in that election.
“I want to say this without the fear of contradiction. The rigging of the 2022 general elections has already begun.
“Uhuru, I heard you say recently that you want to protect this country. The only way you will achieve that is if you fire these CSs and give these roles to different people,” posed the senator.
The visibly angry Cherargei went to the extent of urging the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to officially take the three and make them campaign managers because they have openly shown their support for Raila.
“I want to advise you Raila not to look for other campaign managers. You already have Matiang’i, Mucheru and Wamalwa. Give them that job to work with other agents. That will help us have peace during the 2022 election.” He stated.
