The family of the late fiery politician, Josiah Mwangi Kariuki , has been thrown into mourning following the death of their son, Tony.
Tony was an established businessman and was also the executive director of JM Kariuki Foundation for Peace, Leadership and Transitional Governance.
The news of his death was shared by his sister, Jane Kariuki, on her social media pages on Sunday.
“Tony, can’t believe you are gone,” wrote jane.
While his father was a revered political leader who put the government of the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta on its toes, Tony never showed interest in politics and spent most of his time running businesses and managing his father’s foundation.
The young Kariuki graduated with a Bachelor of Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1995.
Rest in Eternal Peace Tony Kariuki aka TJ. Now you've gone to join your beloved father and hero of our Nation Late JM Kariuki.

It is not yet clear what caused Tony’s dead. His father was the MP for Nyandarua North. He was assassinated in 1975 due to his political activism that made the then ruling the government uncomfortable.
This resulted in political tension in the country as his colleagues in parliament tasked Kenyatta’s government to explain circumstances under which the vocal lawmaker died.
